Beans Party Desserts 豆派

Was on compassionate leave early last week and was hungry after leaving the wake. So we had some desserts from the beans party dessert at the Bukit Panjang train station. Wanted to try the other stall but there is no seat and this one was pretty empty so we gave it a try. We ordered a grass jelly and a soya pudding based flavour to try. I personally think that the topping tastes alright and the soya pudding base was way nicer than the grass jelly one. Overall, I would say that black ball is much nicer in terms of topping wise, as well as the grass jelly base. Didn't tried the soya pudding based at black ball before so cannot comment about which one is nicer though. If I ever eat there again, for sure I will eat the soya pudding version but definitely not the grass jelly as that was totally not sweet to me so I don't like 🤣. Overall I would give it 2 stars if you ask me for a rating.

Birds Of Paradise - Healthy Botanical-Flavoured Gelato

Went to the airport today to take back all the food in my drawer 😂.  The crowd there had dropped a lot and it is no longer crowded even though it is a weekend, probably the last time I would be there till our government lift the restrictions.  After dinner, I ate the pistachio flavoured ice cream from Birds of Paradise, tasted just like the one I ate many years back in Italy 😋. Tasted really nice though. According to my hubby, the place used to have long queues previously, based on the line arrangement, it does feel like it even though it was pretty empty when I visit today. Guess that most of the people are probably at home. Here's the flavours available today. I wonder if they change the flavours from time to time though. Also, due to the virus, we cannot try out any flavour without buying.

The Occidental - Auckland

If you are at Auckland on a Monday, do consider visiting The Occidental and ordering the 1kg Oyster mixed grilled version which is good for 2 to 3 pax sharing. I feel it is more than enough for 2 person to feel very full though. The main reason why we recommend monday is because only on monday, you get Oyster promotion discount, it is very worth the money and it is really nice. You just have to order drinks and it would be fine. As we didn't know that the main dish will make us full, we order another beef with mashed potatoes side dish which makes it too much for us to finish.

Pret A Manger: Delicious Handmade Natural Food

Pret A Manger serves delicious handmade natural food, which I'd call them bread aka sandwiches. They mainly serves 2 types of food, there's a Today's section where the hot meals are, serving hot breads and sandwiches as well as soups (while stock last) . The rest of the shelves serves cold sandwiches which will not be heated up by the staff. I loved the hot meals and the bread had to be taken while it's hot, otherwise, it kind of lose the nice favours somehow. So don't try to buy take away stuff to eat later as we tried that and it didn't taste as good as when it's warm / hot. The hot chocolate is pretty nice too.

Tiramisu @ The Tiramisu Hero Cafe

While walking from Jalan Besar Stadium's carpark to Lavender Food Square to eat my favourite wanton mee, we past by an interesting dessert cafe - the tiramisu hero . the tiramisu hero As a fan of tiramisu, I wonder why I haven't seen that place before that. So after dinner, we dropped by to check out their menu. I am amazed to know that they actually serves a wide variety of tiramisu flavours, unfortunately not all special flavours are available. From the board displayed at the order counter, I can see that they strike off all the sold out flavours... I believe their business must be very good because there's only a few flavours are left. The $3.5 MiniHero are all sold out. So I had to order the ♥ MommaHero (classic original flavour) instead. Even their menu looks so cute  ♥ While I was sitting at the table, waiting to be served, I wonder if I can even finish the entire tub myself as I am pretty full from dinner and it seems like it might be pretty big....

Frankfurt Day 1 - Brunch at Hermann's (Frankfurt Airport)

After eating lots of bread in Paris, we finally started eating normal food again once we get to Frankfurt. Not sure if it's really very nice or is it because I felt deprived of food after eating many days of mainly bread. So once we alright our flight and we decided to take a bite and eat our brunch @ Hermann's.  The food may be simple, sausage and potato but it tasted pretty good.  After tasting bread from Paris, we just can't bring ourselves to eat this one.  After our brunch, we went ahead to drop our bags at our hotel. Which is located at a quiet area in Frankfurt yet easy to reach as it's just a short walk to the subway station. this is the photo of the Zoo station which we keep wanting to alight, sometimes alighting by mistake haha.. Here's the inside of the BB Hotel which we stayed at.. It's pretty small but clean and feels like new. I quite like the concept as we are given a pin to the room which will be reset after it...

Tom's Palette - Coffee Cheesecake (Flavour of the Month)

Like my usual ice cream cravings, my favourite ice cream store is none other than Tom's Palette haha.. Simply because their ice cream are affordable and tasty. They had a wide range o flavour and variety with new flavours every now and then. :D  This month's flavour of the month is -- Coffee Cheesecake! It's either that it's a new flavour or I had not noticed this flavour previously as it tasted great! Have a kind of Tiramisu taste maybe because of the coffee portion. With half a cup of Coffee Cheesecake and half a cup of Chocolate Sorbet, it was a heavenly combination for me! Haha.. I had a medium cup last Sunday, and I make sure that I go before 7pm haha.. so it's pre-dinner not dessert, otherwise, by the time I finished dinner, no more ice cream for me. :X   Website:  www.tomspalette.com.sg As mentioned on their site, they are located at Shaw Towers, Shaw Leisure Gallery #01-25. Opening Hours:  Mon - Thurs: 12 - 9.30pm Fri - Sat: ...

Hotpot Singapore Style @ Tampines 1 - Jumbo Group

Banner advertisement always worked well for customers like me, especially when the banner of food is displayed at pretty obvious places, e.g. on a pillar right in front of a shopping mall. Haha... this is how we found out that there's this Hotpot Singapore Style restaurant. The business of this place is pretty good as we had to queue quite a while before we got our seat on a Friday night. Although price is kinda steep but the food is really very nice. I think the price is steep mainly because it's ala carte steamboat order where the soup base and all items for the steamboat can be ordered individually. Although there's set meal but our order ended up costing less than set meals so we didn't ordered the set one. We figured that we probably can't finish all the food if we order the set, guess what... we are right!! In the end, I suspect that we probably still did ordered a little too much as I was very full at the end of the meal.. haha.. Maybe because ...

Honeymoon Desserts (满记甜品) @ Bugis Junction

I liked the double boiled milk with almond and walnut flakes more than my own order of grass jelly sago with coconut milk. On Christmas day they gave everyone@  their restaurant candy Christmas present. So nice.

Zen Shabu Shabu (新台风精致火锅)

I'm glad that I noticed the Zen Shabu Shabu store located at JB City Square, Jalan Wong Ah Fook, Johor Bahru, Malaysia #B1-04/05. It's a nice looking store at a corner of the B1 level selling Shabu Shabu.. Although there's not a lot of people when we entered, the food is great.  The kitchen is pretty much open concept..  I liked the bird cage light design and the waitress is really responsive and friendly.. Nice lights deco..  I quite like the service button as it helps in getting attention of the waitress better.. Which is a plus point to their great service.  I ordered the pork and lamb shabu shabu with milk herbal soap  The food is really nice and tasty.. The portion is quite substantial as I felt pretty full after eating it, sort of cannot finish all the food.  My bf ordered the cooked dish which tasted nice too..  Waiting for my food to boil..  We tried the flower tea and loved i...

Banana Cake from Mr Kian

I'm blessed to be one of those that got a chance to sample the tasty banana cake (around last Mon / Tue) which my colleague baked for us. If not because he offered me a slice, I probably won't know that banana cake can taste this nice too.. Because this is one really nice tasting banana cake with smooth texture that makes me feel that 1 slice is not enough after finishing it.. I actually have a craving for more!!  I have to confess that I actually didn't quite like the taste of most banana cakes out there, not sure if it's because my parents used to keep buying banana cake for our breakfast and after eating a few, I started skipping that and pick other choices. But this one was really different from the rest. Usually after eating like half a slice to 1 slice, I'll have the very "腻" kind of feeling (the kind where I'll get sick of it after a while). This is something that I won't ever get whenever I ate my friend's baking results.. K...

Todai Christmas + Farewell Lunch @ MBS

Here's the classic looking Christmas tree at the entrance.  Thanks to DG for the nice lunch today at Todai.  More decorations of the place..  Apart from the fish in the picture, I think everything else tasted great!! I loved the beef at the bottom right of the picture especially. Ate a total of 3 of that item.. Yummy :P 3rd serving.. Didn't took the 2nd serving as I can't wait to eat the 2 x snow crab legs I took..  Sushi from my colleague's plate.. I just want to share about the top left hand one.. the one that looks like mini egg yolk but is actually mayonnaise with muster and inside is actually salmon sashimi..  - felt conned as I thought it's looks so much like mini egg and I don't eat raw food. :/  Here's a photo of the snow crab leg from my friend's plate haha.. My share was this one + the craw which I always enjoyed eating.. Snow Crab Leg is nice.. and they provided us with scissors for easy eating too...
