Sony Digital Workshop

This is the 2nd time I'm attending the workshop but now, with a different camera. I would say that the program content had increased since the first time I attended it. Although some of the contents are the same, there are more in depth explanation on the various camera functionality and feature. How to use the usual feature and how to use the new ones. Only now that I finally understood what's the Aperture used for and that's the main thing that can't be set in a Cybershot compact camera as compared to an D-SLR. Somehow, I've a feeling that the trainer is still more pro SLR than compact camera. That's when everyone is testing our their Panorama Sweep feature Finally, I came to realized that the PMB (Picture Motion Browser) software provided with the camera is so useful, I can now easily upload all my photo collection in less than 30mins and it's automatically re-sized instead of my usual manual re-sizing. It really save a lot of time and finally I&#

High Tea @ Arteastiq Mandarin Gallery

Took leave and met up with a few good friends for high tea at Orchard Area. Had a nice chat with them and catch up perhaps. I quite like the tea there but the food wasn't exactly very fulfilling as brunch. Salad Onion Soup Pear Tea Pregnant Mother Dish Pork Dish I would say that the food is pretty good but not really enough for lunch. After that we had round at @ TCC because it was my birthday and I had the 50% discount card they send me as I was a member. :)

Guitar Club Lunch Gathering

My lunch - Pork Chop Had a nice catch up with my friends that I haven't exactly meet for quite some time. Usually only see them during wedding dinners. Perhaps, I didn't talk much but still, it's nice to see them again. Our Newly Wedded Couple Taken by Iggy Taken by Me I think Taken by Me as well for the first trial

Dinner @ Ah Seah Teochew Porridge (New Location)

Ever since Ah Seah Teochew Porridge moved from Kovan Centre to Teck Chye Terrace, the number of visitors had dropped rather drastically although their porridge and food still tasted the same and they still have the famous cheng ting drink too. Perhaps due to the fact that they've rested for quite sometime or perhaps because people didn't know where is it located now, we no longer need to queue or wait as long as before. Duck Meat Sliced Fish I think the photos taken with my new Sony Cybershot Camera looks much brighter and clearer, in fact, not much photoshop was required other than to add my url onto the picture :P

Wedding Dinner @ Swissotel

Had a chance to visit Swissotel with my bf to attend his friend's wedding dinner. Before the dinner start, Zhennan's wife caught a glimpse of me around Raffles City but didn't get to see him as I found out about it only after we reached the destination. I would say that the decoration of the event was quite grand. Ice Figuring Decorated Salad Bar The cute tea-light door gift taken with  Miniature Mode :) The mushroom soup (Shark fin replacement) Cake Cutting by the couple (This photo was quite clear as I took it with a much lower resolution so that I get a 15x zoom, for once, the couple and the cake was big although I took the photo at a far behind seat) Champagne Opening (This was a more blurred photo as it  was quite challenging to take with a much lower zoom rate and higher resolution)

Christmas is Around the Corner

Christmas is near and Christmas Tree is everywhere. But I'm still down with flu :/ Here's a photo of the Christmas tree I took last weekend at Suntec City when I drop by the Book Fest @ Suntec (popular fair) . And here's the photo of Puss in Boots and me. I find Puss and Kitty pretty cute in the show but still Happy Feet 2 was in a way more exciting, perhaps because it was much more fast paced than Puss in Boots and that the show was really very touching. Whereas Puss in Boots was more of a cute but not exactly very logical show.

Popular Fair - Book, Stationary and Home Office Equipment

After meeting a friend at Marina Square on Wednesday, I dropped by the Popular Book Fair (Suntec City, Hall 601 - 603) to take a look since it is opened from 10am to 10pm until 27th Nov 2011. While looking through the various books available, I chanced upon this rather interesting chinese book that has various photos in it. It costed about $17.90 and it is full colored with close to 300 pages. In fact, there are quite a number of books of the same topic in both English and Chinese. The only difference is that the chinese ones are apparently a lot more interesting looking than the english ones. The title, cover and contents are structured in a rather different manner even if the topic is similar. Somehow or rather, I felt that the Taiwanese seems to be better at arranging their book layout such that it looks much more appealing than the english books, especially for those tour guide related books. Imagine, the Taiwanese tour books had photos and text of interesting places on the cove

Immortal Movie Preview

Thanks to OMY and with some luck, I'm honored to be given a pair of tickets to yesterday's Immortal 3D Movie preview. I would say that it is indeed an exciting show filled with suspense and surprises. The imaginary arrows from the Epirus Bow is indeed powerful and the end of the show revealed signs that part 2 is on the way. If you enjoyed watching fighting scenes and is interested to find out how well the main hero of the show fights, you might want to watch the 2D version of this show when you have the time. :) Just to take note, the show is   pretty violent as it screened the details of some fights. Lesson learnt: Life can be a choice, there might be premonitions or fate that's controlling it in certain ways but it's your reactions and behaviors to what happens that decide how your life leads to. Here's the Trailer:

Junhua's Wedding Lunch

Thanks to the warm invitation from my Poly Final Year Project friend, I decided to attend his wedding lunch at the Marina Mandarin Hotel this Saturday. The above is the lovely rose deco at each table. The cute heart-shaped highlighter, practical yet fits the theme The big lobster head that serves with the cold dish Wonderful performance from the groom Also, there's the nice dance performance by the couple at the 2nd march in. An unforgettable event to not just the couple but to their guests as well. I'm honored to be one of them that gets to witness the grand event. Thank you for your invitation. :)

Bon Ami - An Amazing Event

I still vividly remember that one of the most memorable speech was by Ya Kun's CEO, if I remember his position correctly. The inspiring speech on the rebirth of the Eagle, inspiring us to strive on no matter what difficulties we faced in life. He did it, the eagle did it, so can we. Unfortunately, after asking google about it, I came to realised that the story was more of a myth that wasn't true. But still, it did inspired me. Here's the link to the eagle story video along with the myth clarification. Then, it was the fashion show presented by the modelling agency. The models really changed very fast. I witnessed them wearing 4 different sets of clothes sequentially. Then, it's about the delicious food and the interesting speed draw. For most of the lucky draws out there usually around a handful will win prizes. For this event, 70% of us won various prizes which is really very generous of them. Me too won a $100 voucher for "My Little Genius" program. As f

Phantom Of The Opera @ Albert Hall - Live Streaming!

After being a member of GV, I hardly read their newsletters until recently that I saw an advertisement on the Phantom of the Opera @ the Albert Hall showing in their 25 years celebration. As it was a GV exclusive event for Singapore, I decided to watch it on the 4th Nov. (Dates avail: 9pm on Fri 4 Nov or Sat 5 Nov) I thought it was some movie with special performance and has a 20 mins interval, which was very strange. To my surprise, it was a live streaming of the performance at the Albert Hall all around the world. I'm so glad that I was one of the participants of the event. With just $25 per head, I get to watch the best view of the play as it was a live presentation by Universal Studio. At the end of the event, its music composer - Andrew Lloyd Webber gave a thank you speech with the Angel of Music (Sarah Brightman) singing again with various Phantoms singing along with her. In total, there are 2 additional live songs. I'm so blessed to a GV member. Also, thanks

Kitty, Waterfall and other Taiwan Highlights!

Hello Kitty Sweets restaurant where all the food are of the lovely kitty shaped! So cute! But then the food wasn't exactly very tasty as most of them are in a way very sweet. Probably a place that I'd visit just once to experience the atmosphere and take a look at what's inside. The minimum spending here is NTD: $300 per head excluding kids. The soft toy sitting in a very relaxed manner. Posed by me! That's our tired piggy with its massage tool! Tea drinking session at Jioufen Tea House , the nice smelling tea with delicious home made Oolong tea biscuit. It's really a pity that they didn't sell the home made biscuit in packet form as it's really very tasty!!  Waterfall and us! Just the waterfall! Close up view of the falling water! That's dear Welcome to the beginning of the water fall journey! :P Other people's tian deng (天灯) Rainbow Bridge! Perhaps it's nicer looking at night Taipei 101 Quite beautiful i

Visiting Yehliu Geopark (野柳) - Day 2

As the main highlight of Yehliu Geopark is the queen's head, I thought there wasn't a lot to see. So we headed off to Yehliu on 台铁(Train) and 客运(Bus) at around 11 plus. Before that, we dad our brunch at Ah Zong Mian Xian (阿宗面缐) Here's the photo taken at 基隆 where we change to the bus The F1 like bus driver gave us a bumpy right to Yeh Liu (野柳) They have plenty of cute looking mascots of the various stone structures. So I definitely must pose with them :)  Then here's some of the amazing and beautiful stone structures which we witness during our journey. The entrance fee to the park is about TWD: $50 per head. So it's certainly very worth the value. Just that, going round the entire place is going to take about 3 - 5 hours depending on how much area you are covering. As we only travel to about half of the inner areas, so it's about 4 hours and still some places we didn't managed to go but it's getting dark so we just have to go.  Candle Stones
