Tokche

Today we climbed Mount Tokuche and took photo with the Yaks. It's really a challenge 'cos unlike the singapore hills, where there's steps for us to climb, this mountain is just purely mountainous road, u know those sand roads and cliffs, some cliffs are quite scary haha.. especially, when u look down, it's just the very very steep cliff and u need to just walk along the small narrow path to the other side. Sometimes, we step on the plants just to go up the place. Eventually, when we reached the top of the mountain, we saw eagles below us and other smaller mountain but of course there are also other higher mountains. The thing is that after we are there and we took photos, we decided not to climb further and go to the village 'cos we are just too tired to go especially the only 3 singaporeans climbing that mountain haha. Our Nepal friends climbed like there's really no kick, they are totally not tired and very lively. I really admire their fitness level. For me,...

Nepal Day 5

About the mountain syndrome, fortunately, only one of my friends vomited in the middle of last night. On the way down the mountain, back to Jomsom, I fell down the horse 'cos that horse was running down a slope that I find quite steep and was scared so I just rowed out of the horse somehow.. The lucky part is that I merely had a bruise (blue black) only on my right knee. Other than that, I'm pretty much ok. But I was quite traumatized that the horse man decided to pull my horse along while we go down the hill. But that's only for half the way down ba. The rest of the distance, we decided to take a jeep down haha. Well the jeep although bumpy, but it's so much faster than the horse ride. Now I'm wondering, why did we take the horse initially? Isn't it better if the entire ride is the jeep. But that if it's all the way jeep, then maybe it won't be that fun 'cos we won't get the experience horse ridding then.

Horse Ridding

We took the plane to Mustang, Jomsom in the morning and bid goodbye to my mentor's son. 'cos he left for home much earlier than all of us. Then we left our main luggage in the Jomson Hotel for care taking and took horses to Multinak and almost didn't get a hotel to stay in. So the lesson learnt here is that we really need to book the hotel in advance so that such things won't happen but luckily, we did got a hotel in the end but just a pretty low grade one but at least better than nothing ba. But 'cos it's the mountain / hill but their hill unlike ours is really very high. Some of my friends experience the mountain syndrome, like headaches, etc.

Nepal Day 3

We went around Pokhara having lunch at a Japanese Restaurant. I think that's one of the nicest restaurant around le ba. Then we are at Fewa Park Restaurant drinking some drinks. I forgot what I ordered le haha.. But doesn't matter. I liked that place 'cos it really looks nice. It's like some grand dream land sort of place in that area. At least that's what I felt. Then we went to one of our Nepal friend's house to talk to his mother. It's interesting to hear how my mentor sell the business idea to his mother and it's really enlightening.

Nepal Day 2

Tour around the area while getting our trekking pass done and bought tickets to Jomsom as well as the return ticket to Kathmandu. Visited my friend's house and source for gloves and stationaries around the area that we are donating to the kids in the school at Touche, near Jomsom. Actually, it's really pretty ex to go trekking in the area 'cos it cost like 2.5K Nepal money just for the trekking pass and permit. And applying for the permit as well as getting the tickets really take such a long time.. That's why it's a country where patience is very important.

Nepal Day 1

Reached Kathmandu, Nepal around afternoon (1.30pm or so), transit at Bangkok and bought 1 x cosmetic at Changi Airport Duty Free. Then our friend's friend (guide at Nepal) pass us the Yeti air tickets to Pokhara, of which our flight is around 3+pm. Our guide took us to eat Mo Mo at one of the restaurant nearby and helped us get free cab to the airport for our flight. Thanks. By the time we reached Pokhara, it's already evening le. We checked in to our hotel at Hotel Billabong Garden. Quite ok ba, got bed, toilet and tv. Just that, it's a pretty weird place 'cos hor.. the electricity got problem, every 6 hours no power then 3 hours got power. And it continues... I received flowers and welcome banner at the hotel. Took Photos for tracking pass and other stuff for trekking to Mustang, Muktinath. 'cos Tourist ma, got more permit to apply haha.. What to do? Things to take note are: 1. Please bring at least 2 passport photos as well as USD25 per person for the entry ...
