Weekend KL Trip, Jan 2013

Went for a short trip with my fellow colleagues to KL to find our ex-colleague and shopping last weekend. It was a delightful surprise to catch a glimpse of the rainbow at the boarding gate area, probably somewhere around the run way after the rainy weather in Singapore.  KL Airport appears to have a almost brand new appearance. I wonder if it was just renovated recently. The KLIA Jungle Broadwalk was pretty much just the mini waterfall below. The Ancasa hotel and spa was the most posh looking 3 star hotel I ever stayed in. When seeing their hotel building, I was like huh? Is this really the right hotel? When I saw the lobby, I was amazed by the beautiful looking lobby, pretty much similar to those 4 star hotels. But the most unbelievable part was that it had beautiful night view of the city as we stayed on the 9th floor in the correct direction. Can you believe that such a nice hotel cost around $60 / night? That's all of us finally meet

Tom's Palette - Coffee Cheesecake (Flavour of the Month)

Like my usual ice cream cravings, my favourite ice cream store is none other than Tom's Palette haha.. Simply because their ice cream are affordable and tasty. They had a wide range o flavour and variety with new flavours every now and then. :D  This month's flavour of the month is -- Coffee Cheesecake! It's either that it's a new flavour or I had not noticed this flavour previously as it tasted great! Have a kind of Tiramisu taste maybe because of the coffee portion. With half a cup of Coffee Cheesecake and half a cup of Chocolate Sorbet, it was a heavenly combination for me! Haha.. I had a medium cup last Sunday, and I make sure that I go before 7pm haha.. so it's pre-dinner not dessert, otherwise, by the time I finished dinner, no more ice cream for me. :X   Website:  www.tomspalette.com.sg As mentioned on their site, they are located at Shaw Towers, Shaw Leisure Gallery #01-25. Opening Hours:  Mon - Thurs: 12 - 9.30pm Fri - Sat: 12 - 10pm

Hotpot Singapore Style @ Tampines 1 - Jumbo Group

Banner advertisement always worked well for customers like me, especially when the banner of food is displayed at pretty obvious places, e.g. on a pillar right in front of a shopping mall. Haha... this is how we found out that there's this Hotpot Singapore Style restaurant. The business of this place is pretty good as we had to queue quite a while before we got our seat on a Friday night. Although price is kinda steep but the food is really very nice. I think the price is steep mainly because it's ala carte steamboat order where the soup base and all items for the steamboat can be ordered individually. Although there's set meal but our order ended up costing less than set meals so we didn't ordered the set one. We figured that we probably can't finish all the food if we order the set, guess what... we are right!! In the end, I suspect that we probably still did ordered a little too much as I was very full at the end of the meal.. haha.. Maybe because

Honeymoon Desserts (满记甜品) @ Bugis Junction

I liked the double boiled milk with almond and walnut flakes more than my own order of grass jelly sago with coconut milk. On Christmas day they gave everyone@  their restaurant candy Christmas present. So nice.
