Real Implications of 2G Service Termination for Singapore

I know the article about 2G service termination across singapore from 1st Apr 2017 was written in 2015. But how many of us actually understand the true impact of this termination then? Before things get terminated, we may have felt that since our phone is the latest model or it is at least new, the impact is minimal. But how true is that really?

Please, with Dual SIM feature, it's definitely not a Sunset! It is just the beginning of our agony.. :/

With reference to the article: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/telcos-to-end-2g-services/1916108.html. I mainly only realised the impact since 21 Nov but according to M1, they had terminated the 2G services on their prepaid M Card since 15 Nov. So what does this really mean to us consumers? It means that with the Dual SIM phones out there in the market, you are in for a ride! Because, with Samsung's flagship model S7 or even the exploding model Note 7 that's later than S7, the standby or non data SIM option is only on 2G (you can't change it to 3G or higher). Which means, if you had a pre-paid card such as M1, I'm not sure about other telcos. But once they terminated all the 2G in Apr 2017, it means that Singapore had successfully disabled many of the Dual SIM phones out there in the market because the standby SIM, will never work because 2G is now gone.

There aren't many options out there with better dual SIM phones for purchase, at least for Samsung, there's definitely no such option available today. I heard that Xiaomi Mi 5 had 3G for the standby slot. So perhaps Xiaomi is really the way to go moving forward if you are looking for Dual SIM options.

But my 2nd SIM slot where I was trying to connect to M Card can't work anymore as I'm one of the people with a phone that didn't support higher than 2G for the 2nd SIM card slot that was on standby. I'm not sure if it was a hardware issue or a possibly software patch that would fix it. But there's no turning back of clock. 2G is ending soon and so will most of the Dual SIM feature.

I urge you that, if you still haven't got a new phone yet, DO NOT ever buy one because of their dual SIM feature, especially if the standby SIM slot won't support beyond 2G. You will regret it for sure unless IDA would reverse the change after reading my feedback to them. Or perhaps if more than just me had send through the feedback.

So what will you do?

Monopoly Deal - A Fun Game to Play @ Chalets!

I felt that Monopoly Deal is really a fun and challenging game to play, especially at the Chalet. There are many rules to the game, but luckily we had a  monopoly deal rules expert with us to double-click with in event of discrepancy! I feel that it requires strategy and some form of luck to win the game. So far, I always get good property cards sets but it always get taken away 'cos I don't have the "Just say NO" card and it tend to get taken away, especially if I've a complete set. Then, I tried the strategy of not putting up a complete set, then it also doesn't really work 'cos in the end, I don't end up putting my sets on the table. Perhaps, I'll need to play a lot more times and try different methods till I get the idea right I guess. If you do have the chance, try playing that game. It's really exciting, 'cos you'll never know how long will your properties stay with you! As well as, how much money you can have in your hands. T...

Business Network International

I went for one of my friends' Business Network International gathering today. It's actually quite interesting, although initially, I'm quite lost. But after some time, then ok le. A new experience I should say, with a group of people that likes whatever each other is going so much and having lots of fun! The people there are really very friendly, so I shall add those that I've talked to into my hotlist then. Just that I'm not too sure if they really remember me :P But after sometime, I'll need to replace my friend for about 2 weeks so it should be ok I guess. The only downside is that. 7.30am is really a tough timing to wake up and go for the meeting. I'm glad I'm there. I'm so blessed!

Shaun Stenning - Story of the Refund Request

I'm merely sharing the harsh truth and facts about the refund story started by Shaun Stenning himself. My post is biased toward my personal experience so judge it yourself. First of all, there was originally a blog post in their site to tell us that there will be a refund statement or something that will be send to us some Release Agreement but nothing ever happen other than the acknowledgment email reply which I've received from Shaun: "On Mon, Jan 24, 2011 at 12:15 PM, Shaun Stenning <shaun.stenning@dollarrose.com> wrote: your refund request has been received, please note that we will not be actioning the request until 1st March 2011 when you will receive the Release Agreement Shaun" After that, I just visited that link again and it has already been removed entirely. It's now loading page not found instead. If you were me, how would you feel?
